Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, operations research, economics, computer science, mathematics) related field.
  • 2 years of work experience in data analysis (e.g., as a statistician / data scientist or related role).
  • Experience analyzing large data sets and distributed computing using Python and other quantitative and statistical modeling technologies and tools.
  • Experience designing, building and evaluating statistical / machine learning models.

About the job

The YouTube data scientist (YTDS )Responsibility team specializes in measuring and evaluating content quality at scale on YouTube. Our goal is to help the platform grow responsibly by making sure that the engagement and satisfaction objectives of the platform do not come at the expense of content quality.


In this role, you will be providing data science expertise to our team which owns several critical content quality classifiers used across YouTube.You will involve in an effort to make our classifier-based systems more transparent and compliant with upcoming regulations in the European Union. This will involve work on sampling, label quality evaluation, classifier performance measurement.
